We are pleased to share that our Co-founder and CEO, Dr. Sameer Ather, is on the list of the Top Healthcare Technology CEOs of 2025 published by The Healthcare Technology Report. The HTR article highlights healthcare leaders who stood out despite challenges in the healthcare industry, be it staff shortages, administrative burden, or rising costs. It places Sameer alongside other CEOs who have driven meaningful change in the healthcare industry.
The honor is a milestone in XpertDox's journey. We have been building an autonomous AI medical coding platform, XpertCoding, along with analytics tools for healthcare organizations, health systems, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) companies, and Healthcare Group Purchasing Organizations (HGPOs) since 2015. Our leadership has always focused on a tool that enables an increase in the quality of patient care and reduces administrative burden while enhancing compliance.
A clinician-led founder who brings together medical science and AI
Sameer's journey to entrepreneurship has been healthtech-led right from the start. Sameer himself has trained as a physician-scientist (cardiology) and has earned his degree in MBBS from King George's Medical University and a PhD in molecular physiology from Baylor College of Medicine before turning his research into a company. He was guided by his mentor to apply AI to personalize medicine, and that is what he focused on when building XpertDox. His research still shapes how AI medical coding is approached at XpertDox at an organization-wide level. XpertDox is not just another AI medical coding platform. We are building AI-enabled software that provides clinicians and healthcare providers with real-time feedback on clinical notes and the rationale behind every claim. This helps them with clinical documentation improvement and transparency, if at all an audit is needed.
Apart from his CEO and Co-founder role at XpertDox, Sameer continues his practice at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Making a real difference on the ground beyond this recognition
The award is right in line with some of our real operational wins. Recently, in November 2025, XpertDox partnered with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Community Health Centers (CHCs) to deploy our platform, XpertCoding, across several facilities and strengthen their coding quality with built-in features of RAF scores, HCC recapture, and other coding compliance needed for FQHC coding. These parameters directly influence your revenue and, in a value-based coding model, enable you to measure on-ground impact with each patient visit.
